The 2026 Granfondo Internazionale Laigueglia was a remarkable success. Already several days before the official registration deadline, the event organized by GS Alpi had reached its maximum number of 1,600 participants, a testament to the enormous interest it continues to generate among enthusiasts. Making this year’s edition even more special was the spring-like climate that accompanied the cyclists’ rides along the traditional route between the sea and the mountains, carefully designed by Vittorio Mevio and his staff.
Among the many participants at the event was the 1996 Atlanta Olympic champion, Pascal Richard, winner of a Liège-Bastogne-Liège and a Giro di Lombardia. Before the start, Don Agostino – director of Casa Don Guanella in Lecco – gave the traditional blessing to the participants.
The 2026 Granfondo Internazionale Laigueglia took place over a 112-kilometer route with a total elevation gain of 1,700 meters, with only the first 20 kilometers on flat ground, before becoming a continuous climb and descent through the Ligurian hinterland. As usual, maximum safety was ensured for all participants along the route thanks to the support of the Highway Police, motorcycle relays, and the numerous volunteers who manned every intersection.
The race ended in a three-way sprint, with Alberto Nardin (MgKVis-Promotech-FMB) managing to overtake his opponents in the final dozen meters. This was Nardin’s third consecutive victory at the Granfondo Internazionale Laigueglia: he joined Mikel Demiri, representing Team Promotech MgKVis, and Nicolò Camusi, representing Team Mooveo, on the overall podium.
MgKVis-Promotech-FMB also triumphed in the women’s category, with Roberta Bussone taking the overall victory, beating Martina Cavallo (om.cc) and Elisa Leardini (Vibrata Bike).
The Laigueglia Gravel Experience also took place concurrently with the road race. A day entirely dedicated to gravel bikes, approximately 100 cyclists were eager to experience a spring day on the trails of the Ligurian hinterland. This is a unique opportunity for gravel enthusiasts, thanks to the collaboration with Boost Events: the GS Alpi will organize another Gravel Experience in July, in Ponte di Legno, concurrent with the Granfondo Gavia e Mortirolo.
The day in Laigueglia concluded with a pasta party and the final awards ceremony. To mark the occasion, the GS Alpi announced that all enthusiasts will see each other again on April 19th, the day of the Granfondo Torino.
