A challenging and spectacular route: 112 km and 1,700 meters of elevation gain
As per tradition, the Granfondo Laigueglia route doesn’t focus on extreme difficulty, but on a constant alternation of climbs and descents, making the race selective and unpredictable. The first 20 flat kilometers along the Aurelia road are the only truly regular stretch: once the coast is left, the route changes and leaves no room for respite.
After the initial approach, the race faces the first steep climbs towards Paravenna and then Testico, two classic climbs of the event that help separate the group and create the first selections. The central section of the route is a continuous up and down, typical of the Ligurian hinterland, with technical roads, curves, changes in pace, and panoramic stretches that make the race fascinating and challenging.
The grand finale is the Colla Micheri climb, the only real challenge with steep gradients capable of exceeding double digits. It’s not a long climb, but its explosiveness makes it decisive: this is often the deciding factor, with the final kilometers taking participants back to Laigueglia for an always thrilling seaside finish.
The route is 112 kilometers with a total 1,700 meters of elevation gain, proving to be the perfect route for testing early-season fitness.
A great cycling celebration: road, gravel, and an ever-richer village
The Granfondo Laigueglia is more than just a race, it’s a true opening event of the cycling year. In 2026, it will once again be joined by the Gravel Experience, an initiative dedicated to dirt road and adventure enthusiasts, who will be able to experience an alternative route immersed in the natural beauty of the Ligurian hinterland.
The race village, set up on the seafront, will, as always, offer technical stands, exhibition areas, entertainment, and services designed for athletes and their companions, transforming the weekend into a celebration for the entire cycling community.
A race of the Prestigio and a reference point for the amateur movement
The Granfondo Laigueglia is part of the Prestigio di Cicloturismo circuit, one of the most important and popular in Italy. Its inclusion in the Prestigio circuit confirms the organizational value of the GS Alpi and the importance of the event on the national scene.
Over the years, the race has become an unmissable event for those who want to test themselves on a technical yet accessible route, ideal for kicking off the season and rediscovering the thrill of competition after the winter months.
